Reception

Here are some photos from the reception that show the room all set up.

We used the Dockside Room. It was great! There was a really nice (big and private!) foyer right outside the room that we were able to use to set up things like the gift table, sign in photo, guest book, place cards, etc... The bathrooms were also right out here. I think this is the room that has a partition in the middle so if your wedding is huge, you can make this room double the size.
There was also a great deck overlooking the bay which added a nice outdoor space to the room.

I LOVE this photo! You can see the deck of the Dockside room as well as how huge the room has the potential of being!
If you look way in the back of the photo where the little "jetty" is sticking out, that was the original lawn we chose. We ended up with the Paradise Lawn for our ceremony by accident since another couple had really wanted that lawn... oh well! Worked out great for us! :) I think this other lawn (with the jetty) is the "official" Dockside Room lawn (or was in 2005) but I found the room to be easier to access from the Paradise Lawn. We got the Paradise Lawn as a free upgrade for being so understanding (like I care.. hello! Better lawn.. I won't argue!) but it's worth the extra splurge if you decide to go with it!

There it is, all set up! I fell in love with this room the first time I walked in it. Well, I fell in love with Paradise Point the second we drove onto the property! It's like when you find your wedding dress :) You just *know.* We did look at lots of other wedding properties but just kept going back to PP... so glad we did.

Non-pro but it's a nice one of the view!

Non-pro photo (again) so it's all fuzzy but it shows the big windows/view of the bay (and the oh so lovely carpeting! Gotta love resort/hotel carpets!)

Plenty of room for dancing!

When we got married (2005), Paradise Point had a deal with The French Gourmet in Pacific Beach so our wedding cake was included with the wedding package. This meant we got our wedding cake for $60 and $30 of that was the deposit for the plastic bits that hold the tiers together! :) It would have been $30 (just the plastic tier thingies deposit) but I wanted the fondant tinted blue so they charged for that. Still, not bad when you think of these $1000 wedding cakes that people have! :) I hope those are good!
Oh, the cake was fantastic! We even got to have multiple flavours since we were being indecisive! We had 4 layers total (100 guests) - 2 were chocolate-raspberry and the other 2 were lemon chiffon (or something lemon).

Ceremony

These are some photos from our ceremony as well as some from just before and after the ceremony.
I tried to pick the ones that showed off the grounds as much as possible!
Our ceremony was held on the Paradise Lawn which worked out great since there was plenty of space for our cocktail hour.

There were lots of small, round tables like this set up on the "lawn" for cocktail hour. The site even set up a DJ station for us for the ceremony/cocktail hour.
OK, the photo is a little tiny but if you look closely, you can see the cocktail hour tables set up in the back (there are some to the left of me as you are looking at the photo) and the DJ station set up (black tablecloth - or maybe that was the cocktail hour bar?!) to the right of the photo.
This was the photo that showed that the road had been blocked off for us but you can't really tell on here... sigh...

You have to love a wedding venue that still looks amazing in black and white!

PP had no problem with my father-in-law's fancy (and very loud!) car :) We were even able to store it on their grounds overnight. I was including the road photos because I thought I'd picked one out that showed that they blocked off the road for us. That was great.
Since the Paradise Lawn is right off one of the main roads on the property, the site crew put up cones to prevent any unwanted guests from sneaking a peak :)

The grounds are huge so make sure you ask to rent one of the golf carts :) They came in very handy for our pre-ceremony photo sessions!

Paradise Point gave DH and I each our own suites to get ready in. They were HUGE rooms with little kitchens. Plenty of room for all the wedding party members (and visiting family members!)

The whole place is so pretty - so many great photo opportunities!

DH and I both do kung fu so we asked the instructors at our school to do a traditional lion dance (supposed to be good luck) for us. Very cool.. and another reason that Paradise Lawn worked out so well!

Paradise Point

Lovely fountain near the hotel registration building. They used to have fire coming out of it at night!
